Myotherapy, Birth Attendant
Karina’s passion as a practitioner lies in all things Women’s Health. With a personal understanding of what is happening both emotionally and physically she offers a compassionate, supportive treatments for women.
Karina had previously studied and worked in Myotherapy before continuing her education studying Health Science and Chinese Medicine at RMIT. Beginning her career as a Chinese Medicine Practitioner at Melbourne Holistic Health Group, Karina worked with a Ruth Trickey and team before coming to Quiescence and the Melbourne Acupuncture IVF Support Clinic in 2013.
Karina treats a wide range of menstrual health conditions, natural fertility, and assisted reproductive support. Her main focus is supporting women through a healthy pregnancy and a positive birthing experience.
In 2014 Karina furthered her understanding of the process’ of pregnancy and birth by undertaking Rhea Dempsey’s “Birthing Wisdom” course and more personally through birth of her daughter. She offers her patients support and information on all aspects of the birthing process including; birth plans, doula support, optimum birthing positions and recommended reading. She has plenty of positive birth stories and experiences to share.
Through her acupuncture practise Karina successfully treats pregnancy associated conditions such as morning sickness, heartburn, fatigue, musculoskeletal pains and turning breech babies. She will work with your body to achieve a naturally positive birth outcome.
Karina is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association. She is covered by all major health funds and her patients are eligible for private insurance rebates on consultations.
