Kim Riley is a highly trained Chinese medicine practitioner. She completed her Bachelor of Health Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2012 from Melbourne’s SSNT. Recognising the need for mentoring, Kim sought a placement with renowned Chinese Herbal gyneacologist Steven Clavey, beginning as a student observer during her studies and progressing to a practitioner at his clinic upon graduation until 2018.
Kim continues to train in acupuncture and Chinese herbal strategies with practitioners from around the world. She has a firm understanding of the principles of Chinese medicine and the strengths of using a system that looks for the underlying cause of ones symptoms, addressing both the presenting issue and the underlying cause of disharmony in the body.
Kim has a lot of experience working with women facing fertility challenges or undergoing IVF as well as many gynaecological and pregnancy related issues. However the whole-person approach to Chinese medicine is something Kim enjoys, which allows her to work confidently with people undergoing a wide range of health conditions. She sees a lot of clients with pain and finds this work very satisfying.
Treatments with Kim Riley
A session with Kim involves a discussion of the reason/s for coming and the overall health, lifestyle and nutrition of the client. The goals of the client and the treatment plan, using acupuncture and/or Chinese herbs are discussed before treatment begins. If having acupuncture, after the fine needles are inserted you lie comfortably in a warm cosy room for 20-30 minutes. During this time any herbal prescriptions are dispensed, ready for you at the end of the session.
Kim Riley is a nationally registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of ATMS. She is registered with all major health funds for private health insurance rebates on consultations.
