This study was conducted in Germany involving children receiving highly emetogenic chemotherapy for treatment of solid malignant tumors. The study investigated whether acupuncture can reduce the need for antiemetic medication during chemotherapy. Results showed that acupuncture was successfully in reducing the medication required thereby alleviate nausea and vomiting, which is a common side affect of chemotherapy.READ MORE

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT eCam-An Open Access Journal“Efficacy and Safety of Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture in the Management of Obesity.”
Published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Obese subjects aged between 18 and 60 years were selected for a 12-week double-blinded randomised placebo-controlled trial and were administered with a Chinese herbal formula for the management of obesity. Published by the Journal of Fetal Maternal and Neonatal Medicine. This study looked at correcting fetal breech presentation with the stimulation of the acupoint BL67 by moxibustion or acupuncture. The study concluded that acupuncture and moxibustion is effective in revolving foetuses that are in the breech position. READ MORE

Published JAMA Internal Medicine. This study aimed to determine the effect size of acupuncture for 4 chronic pain conditions: back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, chronic headache, and shoulder pain. It concluded that acupuncture is effective for the treatment of chronic pain and significant differences between true and sham acupuncture indicates that acupuncture is more than a placebo. READ MORE
 MIGRAINES: AJACMa_c“Acupuncture for Migraine: A Systematic Review
Published in the Australian Journal of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.  This study compared acupuncture to sham acupuncture and drug therapies for the treatment of migraines. Evidence suggests that acupuncture is significantly superior or at least as good as sham acupuncture, and of comparable efficiency to several proven drug therapies for the treatment and prevention of migraine.
