Jake Arzt is an AHPRA registered acupuncturist and doctor of Chinese medicine. He completed his formal training in Melbourne with a bachelor of Health Science (Chinese Medicine), before complementing his studies with an internship in Taiwan. There he underwent extensive clinical training at Tsu Chi Hospital in Taipei, ultimately inspiring his client-centred and results driven approach to practise.
He views health as a constant process that feels empowering when one aligns with their right path. A pillar of his practise is simultaneously treating clients within the clinic room, while also helping to inform their life decisions when they return to their everyday. Jake is dedication to creating a supportive and safe space for all people regardless of age, gender, colour or culture. He is a positive force with a great capacity for empathy, and passionate about making his clients feel heard and understood.
Jake’s connection to Chinese medicine started at a young age. His father studied at the Academy of Chinese Medicine in Northcote in the 90s and employed his training to treat both Jake and his sister throughout their upbringing. Together with his mother, a yoga teacher for over 30 years based in Balaclava/Caulfield, they shaped his understanding of the concept and dynamic of Qi.
Devoted to a “roots and branch” philosophy, he find himself looking beyond the symptomatic manifestation to address the core underlying imbalances (the root cause). Employing this framework Jake helps individuals not only with acute pain and surface-level issues, but also with deep-seated chronic conditions that impact both the mind and body.
Treatments with Jake
Expect a sensitive approach to needling, with a focus on comfort and relaxation. In addition to traditional acupuncture, he also employs non-invasive options such as cupping, moxa, massage, and herbal medicine to help address a wide range of health conditions.
As an advocate of independent observation and awareness of the self, Jake encourages his clients to take an active role in their own wellbeing. This creates a feedback loop, allowing clients to measure their results and gain independence in their journey to optimal health.
Jake can help with:
- Sleep
- Fertility & healthy bleeding
- Digestion
- Sore & tight bodies
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Emotional wellbeing & mental health
- Menopause
Whether you’re seeking relief from chronic pain, need a fresh perspective on a health complaint or simply seeking a more balanced lifestyle, he offers his assistance to all.
He is a proud member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). He is covered by all major health funds and his clients are eligible for private insurance rebates on consultations. Additionally a 20% discount is offered to students and healthcare card holders.
