Happy Year of the Rooster to you all! January 28th marked the start of the two week celebrations for Chinese New Year.
In China the belief is that as you enter a new year it is a new beginning. It is traditional to clean your house, pay off debts, purchase new clothes, paint you doors, and even get a new haircut in order to have a fresh start for the new year.
So what will the Year of the Rooster bring? 2017 is the year of the Yin Fire Rooster, it is a year you want to be very clear on your intentions. Rooster’s tend to be loyal, hard workers, and have strong values. They do however tend to be stubborn in their ways, ambitious to the point of being unrealistic and tend to let their imagination run away with them.
Last year, a Yang Fire Monkey year, promised political upheaval which was certainly seen the world over. This Yin Fire Rooster year we can expect to see demonstrations of power from global leaders, big corporations and the people. We don’t have to look far to see this playing out already. Migration caused by wars and climate change shall contribute to degrade an intense if not unstable political climate.
Red, purple and lavender colors are all lucky this year and it is also a good year for marriage and pregnancy. There are a few babies expected at the clinic this year, Karina and Kristen are both awaiting new little ones. They can expect an observant, hard working, resourceful, courageous and talented new baby. Roosters are always active, amusing and popular among the crowd. They tend to be talkative, outspoken, frank, open, honest, and loyal individuals. They like to be the center of attention and always appear attractive and beautiful.
To keep up with the Rooster’s busy lifestyle booking in a holiday this year can provide a positive goal to look forward to. The Rooster is a social creature so if you find your self starting the year feeling lonely or despondent now is a good time to seek out new people, widen your group of friends and immerse yourself in the goings on around you.
How will you harmonize with this year? What will you need to introduce or shift in your life?
Our biggest change in the clinic this year is we are now open on Sundays for both Acupuncture and massage! We’ll also have a few new faces around the place as a few familiar ones go on maternity leave, we’ll keep you posted with what’s going on.
Happy Year of the Rooster to you all, we look forward to assisting you with your health goals this year.
